Bangladesh 2024 Justice Watch is a UK-based non-profit organization committed to promoting justice and accountability in Bangladesh after a political change. Following the August 2024 removal of the Awami League government amid weeks of intense protests, we witnessed the tragic loss of hundreds of lives as law enforcement authorities suppressed demonstrations with deadly force. Our goal is to shed light on these injustices, promote accountability, and seek justice for victims and their families.
We document incidents where violence and human rights violations have taken place, facilitate national and international processes for accountability as well as monitoring of related trials. We draw on our expertise in international justice to make visible the injustice that impunity hides so that every victim’s story is not only told but redressed. We believe that political interests often subvert the sort of open and full examination that these important issues require. So, we will remain committed to transparency and to investigation so that all these issues can be fully investigated in a platform free from undue political influence and so real change can be sought.
