Evidence given by Dr. Mohammad Sirajus Salehin

My current age is approximately 50 years. My address is Village XXX, Police Station XXX, District- Rajshahi.

I am working as an Assistant Professor at the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (Pangu Hospital). I joined this hospital on June 12, 2024 AD.

Friday, July 19, 2024, was a government holiday, and I was not on duty. That afternoon, Director Mehdi called and informed me, “Many young patients have arrived at the hospital, come to the hospital quickly.” I went to the emergency department of the hospital and saw many young patients had arrived. They had bullet wounds in various parts of their bodies. Most of the patients were injured by gunfire during the movement. Some of them were also rickshaw pullers and pedestrians. After providing them with primary treatment, we took them to the operation theatre for surgery, and they were operated on there. Such injured patients kept arriving until 04/08/2024.

Among the patients who came to our hospital from 19/07/2024 to 04/08/2024, 8 patients died. Among them, 2 patients were brought in dead. The remaining 6 died after operations. One hand each of 3 people and one leg each of 17 people had to be amputated through surgery.

Cross Examination

I did not submit any register to the Tribunal today to support the statistics I provided regarding the patients. The register is in the hospital. It is not true that I gave false testimony.
