Testimony of Hasne Ara Begum

My name is Hasne Ara Begum. I am 55 years old and a housewife. I have four daughters and one son. My son’s name is Abdur Razzak Rubel. On 4th August 2024, my son had breakfast at 10:00 AM and left to join the movement. Around 1:30 PM, I received news that my son had been injured near Baniapara Ajgar Ali School under Debidwar Police Station. I went there and saw two women crying and a lot of blood on the road. From there, I went to Debidwar Upazila Hospital. At the hospital, I saw my son’s wife and four daughters. The people present there told me that my son had died. I looked at my son and fainted.

At 9:00 PM, Inspector Noyon called me to the police station for post-mortem purposes. There, Awami League leader Mostafizur Rahman told me that he would give seven lakh Taka in cash and two shops, and that there was no need to file a case. The next day, 5th August, my son’s body was brought home. Around 2:00 PM that day, my son was buried. Sheikh Hasina’s people had killed my son. When my son was martyred, his wife was eight months pregnant. Saluddin of Awami League shot my son twice.

Cross-examination

I filed a case regarding my son’s murder. In that case, I named Abul Kalam Azad MP, Tarek Munshi, Mamun Masud, and many unknown persons as accused. Later, I said that my complaint was also against Sheikh Hasina.
