Adjournment Applications
13th October
Prosecutor Mainul Islam: May it please the court. Your Lordship, the witness who was supposed to appear today has suddenly fallen ill. Therefore, unfortunately, he could not come today. Besides, the argument stage of Sheikh Hasina’s case has started, so all the prosecutors are busy with that case. For this reason, I am requesting the honorable tribunal to adjourn the hearing of this case until October 20th.
Chairman: How many witnesses are there in total in this case?
Prosecutor Moinul: There are a total of 62.
Chairman: So, one is sick. You couldn’t bring any of the other witnesses? and why until October 20th? Did the witness tell you that he would recover by then?
Prosecutor Moinul: No, Your Lordship. It’s not actually because of the witness. We requested the adjournment until October 20th mainly because Sheikh Hasina’s case is ongoing at the argument stage in ICT-1. For this reason, it is not possible to conduct other cases.
Chairman: Then why have two tribunals been set up if you cannot run them? Are we to just sit here? You are just making excuses for not working. Then let me issue a contempt of court show-cause notice. Because you cannot bring any witnesses because of the case in Tribunal-1.
Prosecutor Sardar: In Sheikh Hasina’s case, there are also some common witnesses whose files we have submitted to Tribunal 1. For that reason, those witnesses cannot be brought here either. Sir, this is the first time since July that a case has reached the argument stage, so we couldn’t quite understand and couldn’t cope with everything. Inshallah, from now on, there will be no more problems. Just give us one more date, sir. From now on, we will keep these things in mind, and there will be no problem. Just consider it for this one time.
Chairman: Okay, fine and you also didn’t write the application correctly. Write the application properly and submit it again. There have been many over writing.
Prosecutor Sardar: Yes, we are correcting it and submitting it again right now. Much obliged.
The hearing of this case is adjourned till 20/10/2025.
21 October 2025
An application was submitted by the prosecution seeking a two-week adjournment in the Abu Sayed case. The reasons stated were:

- The Investigation Officer (IO) of the case is engaged with two other cases. This reason was unofficially communicated to the court, it was not mentioned in the written application.
Tribunal’s Order: The matter is fixed for hearing on 4 November 2025.
4 November 2025
